To fish in Gla Forest, a fishing card is required. The Glaskogen Fishing Card is the result of a cooperation between the Gla Forest foundation, Stora Enso AB and the fishingorganizations in Hillringsberg, Järnsjön, Stora Bör, Stora Gla, Sölje and Övre Gla. The fishing card is valid for some 80 lakes and tarns in and around Gla Forest nature reserve. Fishing in running water courses is however prohibited. You can catch anything from perch, pike, and pike-perch to salmon, salmon trout,char and whitefish. The use of fly, spinner, angling and baited net is allowed.

During the last years, the fishingorganizations have been working very hard to strengthen the stocks of fish. This has been achieved on the one hand through the restoration of rivers and streams previously used for log driving, on the other hand through the creation of hiding places in the water for the fish.

At the lake Lilla Rämmingen in the southern part of Glaskogen, a fishingbridge for disabled people has been built. Next to the bridge there is a windshelter, a fireplace and dry closet.

In Lenungshammar, fishing equipment can be bought or rented for those who want to try their luck in fishing. A boat is more or less necessary to go fishing in the lakes Stora and Övre Gla, so why not rent one of our rowing boats? The price for renting a rowing boat is the same as for canoes. Why not make a visit to Gla Forest in the winter? During the last yers the ices have been very nice, suitable for jig fishing and other vinter activities such as long-distance skating and skiing.

24 hours SEK 50/person, SEK 100/family
1 week SEK 150/person, SEK 200/family
Group price: SEK 20/pers/24 hours, however at least SEK 200/occasion
Children up til 16 years old are free of charge.
Year card (1/1 - 31/12) SEK 500:-/person

Besides the offices of the foundation in Arvika and Lenungshammar, the Glaskogen card can be bought at the following places: Tourist-Offices in Arvika, Årjäng, Säffle, Karlstad, Arvika Canoecenter, Petrol stations in Glava und Sulvik, Hillringsberg Herrgård, Glava Gästgård, Ica in Glava, Sölje Camping, Wermes Hyrkanoter in Lenungshammar, Oldéns Kanucenter in Glava Glasbruk, Guesthouse Eleven in Jössefors, Sommarvik Swecamp in Årjäng, Esters Café in Långserud and Survival Center in Svanskog.
