Firewood – current status
Updated 9 June 2025
Firewood at shelters no. 23, 24, 28 and 44
At these locations, you saw and split the firewood yourself, using birch logs that have grown in Glaskogen.
On-site, there are logs, a sawhorse, and tools for sawing and splitting the wood, along with instructions on how to use them.
Please be mindful of your own and others’ safety when using sharp tools. If logs or tools are missing, please notify the Infocenter in Lenungshammar, so we can fix delivery as soon as possible.
Firewood is missing at the following wind shelters right now:
- 10 Manjatjärn
- 14 Skagern
- 39 Öjesjön
- 48 Åltjärn
- 49 Holmtjärn
- 50 St. Mörttjärn*
- 54 Lerviksudden
Places marked with * are difficult for us to reach, but we hope to be able to deliver firewood to these places during 2025.
The wood is often wet this time of year. Take good lighting material with you to start a fire and remember to fire carefully and sparingly.
Hiking Trails – current status
Updated 9 June 2025
Trail over Rödvattensberget is open again
The trail over Rödvattensberget, where wind shelter no. 44 is located, is now open again (Glaskogen map sections S19–S21).
Due to a spruce bark beetle infestation, the trail had become difficult to pass because of fallen trees, but it has now been cleared.
At the wind shelter, you’ll find logs, a sawhorse, and tools for sawing and splitting firewood, along with instructions on how to use them.
Please take care of your own and others’ safety when using sharp tools.
We wish you a great hike!
