Temporary information about trail signage in Glaskogen

2026-10-01

We are renewing the signage along Glaskogen’s hiking trails.

As part of a larger project to improve and clarify the trail system, the old signs are now being removed. New signage will be installed.

In the meantime, the hiking trails will remain marked with orange trail markings. The trails closest to Lenungshammar that have their own signature colours will also retain these markings.

Please keep the following in mind during this transition period:

  • Always bring a map and compass when hiking in Glaskogen.
  • Pay extra attention at road crossings and trail junctions where directional signs were previously located.
  • At some roads, it may be more difficult to see where the trail continues or starts on the other side of the road. Look for the orange trail markings.
  • An orange marking shows that you are on a hiking trail – it does not tell you which trail you are on or which direction to take. You therefore need to use a map to navigate.
  • Plan your hike and keep track of your position on the map as you go.

Why are we removing the signs?

Glaskogen has an extensive trail system, and the existing signage is old and needs to be renewed. Removing the old signs is the first step towards creating a new and more consistent signage system.

Thank you for taking extra care while we work to improve the trails!
